Newcastle University Medicine Malaysia (NUMed) is a branch campus of Newcastle University UK, situated in Johor Bahru and offering the same MBBS degree awarded by Newcastle University in England. This unique arrangement means graduates receive a UK medical degree — fully recognised by the GMC — while studying in Southeast Asia. The five-year MBBS programme follows the identical curriculum to Newcastle UK with the same examinations, standards, and external examiners.

Clinical rotations take place at Hospital Sultanah Aminah (Johor Bahru's largest public hospital), Hospital Sultan Ismail, and KPJ Johor Specialist Hospital. Students can transfer between the Malaysia and Newcastle UK campuses.
